100年を越える伝統を引き継ぐ八木竹とコラボした美しい茶箱。

竹は強度も高く、何年も使える非常にエコな素材です。
だからこそ長く愛せるものを。
「おとなのおままごと」をテーマに、
カラフルなエコファーをミックスし、ファッショナブルに仕上げました。

大正14年（1925年）から鹿児島県薩摩川内市で続く伝統工芸のYAGITAKE.
創設当時は「八木斉竹講習所」として地域の人に竹細工を教えることから始まり、
現在は3代目の八木秀作が後を継ぎ、もうすぐ創設100年を迎えます。
竹は成長スピードが速く、繁殖力が強い植物なので、適度に伐って使うことでほかの植物と共存し、
山を健康な状態に維持することができます。
また、土に還る自然素材なので、近年注目されているSDGsなどの観点からみても地球にやさしい
良質な素材であると自負しています。
多いときには一日に1m以上も伸びることがある竹。
温かい鹿児島で育った竹は特に大きく、まっすぐで、厚みもあり丈夫です。
一方で、風で揺られても簡単に折れることはなく、身体をたわませて風を受け流すしなやかさも兼ね備えています。
MAMAGOTOはそんな竹のように想いはまっすぐに、そして時代に合わせてしなやかに、伝統工芸を未来に繋げていきます。
"MAMAGOTO" is a traditional craft from Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture, continuing since 1925 with the concept of "straightforwardness and flexibility, craftsmanship akin to bamboo."
Initially founded as the "Yagi Saichiku Training School," it began by teaching bamboo crafts to the local community. Currently, the third generation, Yagi Shusaku, is carrying on the legacy, soon approaching its 100th anniversary.
Bamboo grows rapidly and has strong reproductive abilities, making it possible to harvest in moderation while coexisting with other plants and maintaining a healthy mountain environment. Being a natural material that decomposes in the soil, bamboo is considered environmentally friendly and of high quality from the perspective of initiatives like the SDGs.
Bamboo can grow more than 1 meter in a day during peak periods. Bamboo grown in the warm climate of Kagoshima is particularly large, straight, thick, and sturdy. It is resistant to breaking even when swayed by the wind, possessing both strength and flexibility to bend and flow with the wind.
"MAMAGOTO" aims to connect traditional craftsmanship to the future, embodying the qualities of bamboo: straight in purpose, yet flexible to adapt to the times.
